What counts as a Complex signing?
Anything that takes meaningfully more time, coordination, or travel than a standard home signing: a hospital, hospice, or care facility signing; two households in one engagement; two full estate plans signed together; or a location beyond 25 miles of Beaverton. Complex signings start at $650 and are always quoted before we book, so there are no surprises for you or your client.
Do you provide witnesses?
Yes. Two witnesses are included in the Full Estate Plan package. For Essentials or Complex signings, witnesses are $25 each. Our witnesses are neutral parties who are not named in the documents.
Do we need to print the documents?
Either way works. Email us the package and we print it, or we pick up pre-printed documents from your office on the way to the signing. Printing is included in every package.
Do you send scanbacks?
Yes, in every package, at no extra charge. We scan the signed documents at the table and send them to your office before we leave, so you and your client have a complete signed copy immediately, while the originals are on their way back to you.
How do the signed originals get back to us?
Whichever you direct: we hand them to your client at the signing, drop them at your office, or ship them by FedEx. Shipping is billed separately at our cost, about $30 for a local office and $150 to $175 for international, depending on speed.
What if the documents aren't there when you arrive?
We confirm documents, ID, and witness requirements with your office before we leave, so this is rare. If we arrive and the package isn't there, the return trip is billed at our travel fee, $100 to $150 depending on distance, and we reschedule as soon as the documents are ready.
Who do you invoice, the firm or the client?
Your choice. We send a Square invoice to the firm or directly to the client, and we accept all major cards. Many firms fold our flat rate into their engagement so the client sees one number.
Can you explain the documents to our client at the signing?
No, and we're careful about that line. Our notaries are not attorneys. We verify identity, confirm the signer is willing and understands they are signing, and notarize properly. Questions about what a document means go back to your office.
