What you'll need for a correctional signing
Signings inside a facility have a few extra moving parts. Here's what to have in place so nothing catches us off guard at the door — and if anything's unclear, just text us and we'll sort it out together.
- Facility approval. The facility authorizes visits and sets its own schedule — we coordinate the approval and timing with them, so that's off your plate.
- The signer's details. Full legal name and booking or inmate ID number, so the facility can add us to the visit.
- Valid photo ID — the big one. The signer needs a current, government-issued photo ID, or the facility must verify identity through their records. Without one, we're not legally able to notarize. Unsure? Text us first.
- Complete, unsigned documents. Filled out fully, with no blank spaces, and not signed ahead of time — by law, our notary witnesses the signature in person.
- Witnesses, if required. Some documents need witnesses in addition to our notary, and facility staff usually can't serve. Tell us in advance so we can plan.
